Meet Kayla Terminel, a Junior here at the bridge. Kayla is a part of the girls’ volleyball team. She plays the right side, and she also plays Beach volleyball outside of school. When I met up with Kayla to interview her, I had a lot of questions about her time in the volleyball program, and what I learned was very interesting. Kayla started playing volleyball in middle school. When I asked her why she decided to start playing volleyball, she responded, “I actually joined it as a joke; I didn’t think I would make it. I tried out for the middle school team, and they actually put me in it.” Kayla went on to say she was surprised to find out that she actually made the team. When asked what she has learned since then, she responded, “I learned….how to be part of a team.” I began to ask my final questions, and in response to one of them, Kayla said when she first started playing on the team, she would be extremely nervous before games, but eventually she got over it. When I asked how, she responded, “I started not caring. Before I took it too seriously, and you get in my head that way.” Kayla is still currently on the team and an active player. Though the season has just ended this month, please support the team in their upcoming season.
