Rodolfo Ramirez reflects on his personal growth, the impact on technology in Nuview Bridge Early College High school, and the phone ban policy that has implemented on the school campus. As I conducted an interview, Rodolfo Ramirez shared insights on his educational journey, and gave opinions on the policy implemented especially the impact on students.
“I’ve become a better person and have also reduced many cons in my life which I’m still currently working on. Some con’s are losing weight and getting into a better fit. I wake up early in the morning and go run 9+ miles in Lake Perris”-Rodolfo Ramirez.

As Rudy (Rodolfo Ramirez) reflected on his personal life other being a student he noted that last year he wasn’t focused on his life and his future as much as he is this year. Within the conversation he also mentionedhat his mindset and decisions he has taken involves for him not engaging with technology as much as he did last year and instead he is living life at it’s potential according to him. He thinks that other than technological devices there is more point in life other than just scrolling on social media especially Tiktok since he was very much addicted to it. However, Rudy is working on his life outside of school and which contributes to his mentality inside campus. The reason is because he thinks that devices, especially smartphones, have formed a huge part of our lives. It is something hard to live without since it is involved in our daily lives whether watching videos, texting, or calling. All these behaviors occur often which lead him to give his opinion on technology being banned in the campus of NBECHS( Nuview Bridge Early College High School).
“When our school first banned phones, I was a bit mad and bored but now halfway into the semester I realize how fun it can be with friends when phones aren’t used,” Rudy noted, acknowledging the benefits of phones screen time decreasing within NBECHS campus.
After reflecting while being interviewed Rudy thinks that both him and the other students at the campus should be able to understand that there is more to school than just focusing on the electronic devices and not focusing on school. He mentioned how nowadays, school is coming to normal for him because old habits are starting to arise, which is great according to him. Now, as phones got banned here at NBECHS his friends including myself (Diego Matias) I came to the realization that our bonds with teacher, friends, classmates, and staff are getting stronger unlike back then the only thing that connected us was our electronic devices.

“Some students I know have to use their phones a lot because of situations that they may be in so no, it’s not fair for everyone. Some have satisfied the requirements of the school so why don’t they get some reward back?” Rodolfo Ramirez stated, with wonder, because he believes students who are achieving success should be rewarded or their hard effort be valued.
Rudy’s experiences reflect a shift in perspective among students at NBECHS. While the initial reaction to the phone ban policy was being so resistant, Rudy isn’t the only one who began to recognize the unexpected pleasure of disconnecting with technology. This revelation further expands for students success in school or education and their well-being in their own personal life. “Maybe this phone ban is helping us find a better balance, one where we’re not just students, but also who value real connections and experiences. Maybe this is why we clash, not in the game, but in real life!”
