March is a very busy month for everyone. SAT tests, Spring Break coming soon. But there is an event that many are talking about. SIX the musical! This is a very popular musical and is known for its way of telling the historical story of the six wives of Henry VIII with a little bit of modern pop-culture, and inspired by iconic celebrity singers. Its success became a worldwide production on broadway! Its even known for winning two 2022 Tony Awards for Best Original Score and Best Costume Design! How cool is that?
But this isn’t just your regular story about the stories of the six wives, it’s also a powerful story about female empowerment and independence. It’s also about the women supporting each other and becoming more than just wives of the king, but also strong leaders who acknowledge their own achievements and identities.
Why should you go?
SIX is a fun and a high-energy story with a modern pop concert and lots of singing! It’s about the six women competing on who will become the lead singer of their girl-group based on which one of them suffered the most during their marriage with Henry VIII.
Coming by and watching is a great way to show your support for our very talented student actors that worked so hard during their rehearsals to give it their all for this musical! And let’s not forget about our stage crew members who helped out with making props, helping backstage, lighting, choreography, and so many more! Our school will provide snacks and drinks to enjoy while watching the play, so make sure to bring extra money if you crave something sweet or salty.
So if you need something to do during these two weekends, come on by and support! The dates are March 6th, 7th, 13th, and 14th at 7:00 PM and get your tickets at the door of Simpson Hall. Bring your friends or family to come and watch! And if you decide dress up as either a pop icon or a princess, you can come in and watch for free!
